Musher Question & Answer
My 3rd-grade class followed the Iditarod in school. Growing up in Anchorage my parents always took me to see the start. I decided when I was 7 I wanted to be a dog musher someday and started working at kennels as soon as I finished high school.
I love the self-sufficiency and the challenge, mushing is a lot like teaching to me - you take a group of individuals and get to watch them evolve into a cohesive unit. Each dog has such a unique personality and it's fun to watch them grow and learn alongside me.
