The Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race can count on Manitoulin Transport year-round for storage and supplies.
Returning as the Official Transportation Sponsor – Yukon, Manitoulin Transport provides the use of a 53-foot trailer for food drop and transportation to Dawson City. The trailer remains in Dawson for the week the race is in town to store food bags and straw which is accessible to handlers and mushers upon their arrival.
Manitoulin Transport provides space at their Whitehorse depot year-round for the Yukon Quest to store their equipment and tops the sponsorship off with an additional $5,000 in cash.
“The support Manitoulin gives the race is invaluable,” says Natalie Haltrich, Yukon Quest Executive Director – Yukon. “Their in-kind support in Whitehorse and Dawson City helps ease any worry surrounding necessary race logistics and the additional cash support goes a long way towards logistics needs for the race. Their contribution is very much appreciated.”
“We at Manitoulin Transport appreciate the long tradition of this event being the toughest race in the world and, although transportation has changed, we recognize the historical significance of this event,” says Jeff Smith, Executive Vice President, Manitoulin Group of Companies. “We are excited to be the official sponsor and look forward to the race being a big success.”
