Early yesterday morning, Hugh Neff reported to the Yukon Quest Head Veterinarian a dog on his team had expired at Clinton Creek.

Head Veterinarian Cristina (Nina) Hansen, DVM, PhD reports that preliminary necropsy results for Hugh Neff’s deceased five-year-old male dog, Boppy, showed that the cause of death was aspiration. This is consistent with the clinical history provided by the musher.

Final necropsy results are expected to be released within one month after the 2018 race finish.
