This year's Yukon Quest mushers gathered at the office in Whitehorse, YT, to sign the ritual bunny boot and pull bib numbers from the boot to determine their start times tomorrow. Seven mushers are signed up to run the YQ100 and nine mushers will take on the YQ300 event. Race Marshall, Doug Grilliot, hosted a musher's meeting before the draw to go over the logistics of the race with mushers and handlers, answering questions about trail conditions, mandatory rest stations, and check points.

Sebastian dos Santos Borges drew the number one position for the YQ300. Dos Santos and his dog team flew all the way from France to participate in the Quest. After the race, they'll be gearing up for the Iditarod next month. Ilana Kingsley of Stinky Pup Kennels in Whitehorse, YT, drew the number one position for the YQ100.
