How did your kennel get its name?

Tom and Sprocket used to pee on each other.

How did you get started running dogs?

While a summer canoe instructor at Voyageur Outward Bound in Ely, MN, my husband and I attended the winter staff invitational mushing trips where we learned about freight dogs and mushed with dogs who had been repatriated from Antarctica.

What do you love most about dog sledding?

The dogs!

Please share any interesting stories or facts about your dogs that will be running in the 2024 race:

Most of the dogs, and the musher, are in the AARP

Are you a member of any other organizations in sled dog sports?

DPSAY

Why did you enter the 2024 Yukon Quest and what are your goals for the race?

To bond with the dogs and see great sights. Goal is to safely finish the race and to demonstrate that a team of mostly older dogs can succeed at a distance race.

Do you listen to music on the trail? If so, what types?

Green Day, Rancid, The Offspring, The Who, Pink Floyd

How did your dogs get their names?

They are all from other mushers so they come pre-named.

Share a quick story about one of your indispensable handlers:

Vico is the best! I wouldn’t be able to do this race without her.
