Musher Question & Answer
How many years have you been running dogs?
Tell us about your dogs?
Hoping that Cockwomble, Arseface and Lardarse will make the team this year. At the end of the 2019 Yukon Quest I stated that my main dogs, the Crazy litter (Psycho, Maddie, Skits, Loonie and Nutter) would be retiring. As of August 2019, and three weeks into training, I am not so sure. The majority of the dogs on the team this year will have been bred by us.
How did you get started running dogs?
Got our first Siberian Husky in 1997 and it all went downhill from there.
What do you love most about running sled dogs?
Being out in the wilderness with just the dogs and away from reality.
Are you a member of any other organizations involved in sled dog sports?
Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain. Gin Lovers Association of Mount Lorne.
Why did you enter the Yukon Quest? What are your goals for the race?
I truly do not know. Have fun with some new dogs on the team and aim to ensure that the team has fun too (P.S. it is a joke about me having fun on the race - I know now that is not going to happen).
How did your dogs get their names?/ How do you choose names?
We take it in turns to come up with litter themes: Louise tries to come up with sensible names; I do my best to come up with offensive names that may upset people. I asked the dogs and they don't care what they are called.
