My admiration goes out to the mushers and to the dogs, whose "bravehearts," strength and loyalty will always leave me in awe.

Through a partnered marketing initiative with the Government of Yukon's Department of Tourism and Culture, an opportunity was made available to show a 3-minute introduction to the Yukon Quest during Air Canada's in-flight video presentation on all North American flights, including those connecting Canada with the Caribbean. The short video will play almost 12,000 times during the holiday month!
"This is a fantastic opportunity for the Yukon Quest to reach a much wider audience of potential future dogsledding fans," noted Stephen Reynolds, Manager of Yukon Quest International Association (Canada). "Our experience is that once people are introduced to the Yukon Quest, they are fascinated and quickly want to become a part of our Yukon Quest family and team."
"This will really help the Yukon Quest move towards our goal of greater national and international recognition for the race, and eventually, to attracting wide-spread television coverage of the Yukon Quest. We are very excited about this opportunity, and really appreciate the efforts of the Yukon Government's Department of Tourism and Culture for their help in making this possible."
Denny Kobayashi, Manager of Marketing Operations for North America for the Department of Tourism and Culture, added, "This is another example of the Department leveraging our marketing dollars to provide greater opportunities to Yukon tourism businesses and organizations to assist them in promoting their own properties as well as promoting the Yukon Territory as a desired destination of choice."
So, for all our Yukon Quest fans who are flying on Air Canada during December - keep a lookout for the Yukon Quest short video, and be sure to tell all of your friends and family who you know are traveling with Air Canada to watch for it as well!
