Yukon Quest Testimonials
Yukon Quest was thrilling and exhilarating. We loved seeing the teams depart and waited further along the route to give encouragement to the dogs and their handlers. We gained respect for the Quest participants after we tried dog sledding ourselves. A world class event in breathtaking surroundings.

1. Jenny Greger

How long have you been running dogs? 14 years

Why do you enjoy mushing? Spending time with my dogs in the middle of nature

How many dogs do you have? I have 15, but their are 45 in my family's kennel

Tell us a little bit about yourself: Nine of the dogs in my kennel were rescued. Two litters of four were born less than a week after their starving mothers were rescued. I fostered the puppies and ended up being able to adopt them. The 9th dog was rescued when he was one year old, along with his five brothers and sisters, who belong to my dad. In the summer, I go to the AKC Dog Shows with my Belgian Tervuren, JB. JB and I do obedience, agility, and rally. Sometimes I let him run on the team early in the training season when they are slower.

How long have you been running dogs? My whole life: first with my dad, and then by myself for the past seven years.

Why do you enjoy mushing? I like the outdoors and love dogs.

How many dogs do you have? 22

Tell us a little bit about yourself: I was born and raised on the Kenai Peninsula. When I was about two, my dad made me a little sled to push up and down our driveway. When I was a few years older, he gave me Queenie, and I got to run by myself. Dad would follow me on the snowmachine. I moved to Salcha when my grandpa got sick. I am training my team on trails by the house. I also love to draw, paint, and carve dragons and animals.

How long have you been running dogs? 11 years

Why do you enjoy mushing? I enjoy working with the dogs, watching them perform, and being out on the trail.

How many dogs do you have? 20

Tell us a little bit about yourself: Every year from September through December, my family and I have lived in a remote location on the Porcupine River where we hunt, fish, and trap. We use the dogs on the Porcupine as our means of transportation. In Fairbanks, I go to Lathrop High School and do track, Youth Court, and run dogs. I've always dreamed of doing the Junior Quest. I definately plan to continue mushing when I'm in college.
