Musher Question & Answer

How many years have you been running dogs?

Tell us about your dogs?
There's not enough space to tell these stories, but my dogs and I have come a long way together. I look forward to taking them on the Yukon Quest journey and to see how we all grow further.

How did you get started running dogs?
I dreamed of running dogs as a kid in northern MN and moved to Alaska when I was 21 to do just that.

What do you love most about running sled dogs?
The companionship, travelling around the state where no other form of travel could take you. Above all - the silence!

Why did you enter the Yukon Quest? What are your goals for the race?
To experience this trail system, offer a different racing experience to our dogs, see a different part of the state and prepare for Iditarod 2017.

What music do you listen to on the trail?
Audiobooks and P!nk.

How did your dogs get their names?/ How do you choose names?
Each litter has a theme and then the personality of each pup tends to dictate the name from there. On the other hand, sometimes they just get stuck with a name!
