Cooke First Musher to Sign Up for 2017 Yukon Quest

The Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race has 17 mushers on the roster after the first day of sign-ups for the 2017 race. Entries are taken until January 6th.

Whitehorse, Yukon resident Rob Cooke was the first musher to sign up, followed by Mike Ellis of Fox, Alaska. Defending champion Hugh Neff and many familiar faces such as Allen Moore, Brent Sass and Matt Hall are also among those who are running again.

Additionally, the YQ300 is full with 25 mushers including four-time 1,000-mile champion Hans Gatt. Currently there is also a waitlist of 10 mushers.
