The race team and fans of the Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race will sleep comfortably in Whitehorse and Dawson City, thanks to Northern Vision Development, Yukon Hotels.
Returning as the Official Hotel Sponsor – Yukon, Northern Vision Development (NVD) will provide in-kind room support at the Coast High Country Inn in Whitehorse, and at the Downtown Hotel in Dawson City for the Yukon Quest race team. NVD has extended their support to fans and members of the Yukon Quest. They are providing discounted rates for fans following the race at each of their properties, and 10% off food at the Gold Pan Saloon, The Deck, and Morels in Whitehorse for all members. Additionally, Yukon Quest merchandise is also available for purchase in the Coast High Country Inn and Best Western Gold Rush Inn lobbies, making it easy for fans on the run to grab their swag.
New this year, NVD is also putting funds towards the Kwanlin Dun Sewing Circle for an initiative to celebrate the Yukon Quest’s 35th year. The Kwanlin Dun Sewing Circle created the 2017 First Nation dog blankets which are now officially part of Yukon’s Permanent Art Collection. Details on the new initiative will be released at a later date.
“Our race team works hard at all hours of the day and night on the trail, so having accommodations in Dawson City during the 36-hour layover and then at the finish line in Whitehorse is very much appreciated,” says Natalie Haltrich, Yukon Quest Executive Director – Yukon. “NVD truly includes the full Yukon Quest family in their support, providing discounts for fans of the race, selling merchandise at their hotels, and this year, supporting an initiative to celebrate our 35th year.”
“The Yukon Quest is an iconic event that showcases the beauty of the Yukon to a worldwide audience,” says Adam Gerle, Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Northern Vision Development. “NVD is delighted to be a major sponsor of the 2018 race and to support the race at our hotels in both Whitehorse and Dawson City.”
