Yukon Quest Rests Easy with La Quinta as Official Alaska Hotel

Participants, staff, volunteers and fans will be well rested when they head out on the trail of the 2016 Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race, thanks to La Quinta Inns & Suites.

The Fairbanks hotel, formerly known as the Alpine Lodge, is the Official Alaska Hotel of the Yukon Quest. La Quinta will provide rooms for officials and race staff at the start of the race, as well as a special rate of $74 USD per night for mushers, support teams, volunteers and fans.

“With less than a month to go until race time, it’s important for us to have La Quinta Inns & Suites on board as the Official Alaska Hotel,” said Marti Steury, Yukon Quest Executive Director – Alaska. “Our race officials, vets, mushers, volunteers and support teams, will need comfortable and reliable accommodations as they prepare to head out on the 1,000 mile journey down the Yukon Quest trail. We know we can count on the management and staff at La Quinta to exceed those expectations.”

The Alpine Lodge had been the Official Alaska Hotel of the Yukon Quest for eight straight years. The same great management is in place at La Quinta and will ensure a seamless transition for the 2016 race.

“The Alpine Lodge and now La Quinta Inns & Suites has been so proud to be a sponsor and looks forward to the excitement of the race again this year,” said Jymi Sickles, General Manager of La Quinta, who has been with the hotel since it opened. “We can’t wait to welcome the entire Yukon Quest family back!”

La Quinta Inns & Suites is located about ¼ mile away from the Fairbanks International Airport. La Quinta runs more than 870 hotels across the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

The 33rd Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race starts February 6, 2016 in Fairbanks.
