2013 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The purpose of the AGM is to conduct the business of the organization and the election of the Board of Directors.
The meeting will be conducted in the Boardroom at the Whitehorse Library, First Avenue next to the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre.
All current members of the Yukon Quest International Association (Canada) are invited to attend the AGM. Anyone interested in becoming a member or renewing the membership can fill out a membership form and pay in full at the meeting room prior to the AGM.
The Board of Directors for the Yukon Quest International Association – Canada (YQIA) seeks applicants to serve on its Board of Directors.
Six board members will be elected on May 16, 2013 to serve two-year terms.
Qualifications: Applicants must be members in good standing of Yukon Quest International Association – Canada (YQIA) as of May 16, 2013 and able to travel to the USA without legal restrictions.
Commitment: Board members are expected to attend monthly board meetings in Whitehorse (teleconferencing is available) and to attend two joint planning sessions with the Alaska board. (Joint board planning sessions happen in Fairbanks in the spring and Whitehorse in the fall; two days for each meeting, not including travel time; board members travel at their own expense.) Board members should expect to dedicate a minimum of 10 hours per month to board meetings and other Yukon Quest business; special events and other projects may take additional time.

A member in good standing who wishes to put his nomination through after May 14, 2013 can do so at the Annual General Meeting itself in person.
Process: The Nominating Committee will review applications for inclusion on the ballot. All candidates will have an opportunity to address members at our annual meeting, Thursday, May 16, 2013, 7:00 PM at the Whitehorse Library on First Avenue. Ballots for the voting will be handed out at the AGM. Election results will be announced at the end of the meeting.
Vote by Proxy: A member in good standings that cannot attend has the opportunity to send another member in good standings to the AGM to vote in the election for board members on their behalf. In order to do this a proxy form needs to be filled out and received by the office no later than May 14, 2013.
