19 Sign Up for 2018 Yukon Quest on Opening Day

Sign Up Day for the 2018 Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race saw 19 mushers confirm their intention to run.

For the second year in a row, Whitehorse resident Rob Cooke was the first to hand in his paperwork, followed by two-time champion Hugh Neff of Tok, Alaska. As of Sunday, there are 10 veterans running and nine rookies. Additionally, the YQ300 received 21 entries, including 1,000-mile finishers Aliy Zirkle, Cody Strathe, Ben Good, Gerry Willomitzer, Matthew Failor and Mandy Nauman Austin.
