Hi, Paige Drobny I'm doing research on the Yukon Quest and I picked you out of a hat. You are the most awesomest dog sledder ever.

Dear Paige, You would not remember me, as you were only 3 or 4 years old when I saw you last (in PA)! Your mom and I have been friends since we were 9 years old and riding at Sherrill's Stables. I've been enthusiastically following your mushing career since your 1st Iditarod race. I keep the race information up on my computer for the duration of whichever race you are doing. It has been such a joy watching you and cheering you on from afar thru the years. I'm writing now because I see that you have been stopped for no known reason for most of the last several hours--and I am worried about you and your "babies" out there on Mandanna Lake in the freezing cold. Ed Hopkins passed you several hours ago. I'm choosing to assume that you are OK or that he would have assisted you, if anything really bad had happened. I'm hoping that, in addition to prayers, this email will carry positive energy to you. Matt Hall (in the article in the Daily News-Miner) said such nice things about you and your positiveness--a quality that helps at these bad times, as well . You are a very strong and courageous woman--more important qualities to help carry you through! I am looking forward to hearing soon that you and your dogs are OK. I know that I am not alone, and that right now many people are praying that all will be well for you and your team. Much Love, Carolyn Galatzan (and Russ) Owego, NY
