Severin Cathry Withdrawn

Friday, February 9, 2018

Last evening at 6:40pm PST, rookie Severin Cathry (bib #20) from Andermatt, Switzerland, activated the SOS button on his race-tracking device approximately 45 miles outside of Eagle, Alaska, heading towards Dawson City.

The organization coordinated with trailbreakers, EMT and veterinarian who arrived on the scene to assess the situation. Cathry and his team were healthy and safe and made the decision to continue towards Dawson on their own volition after receiving extra food for himself and his team.

Cathry has officially been withdrawn in Dawson City as per Rule 18G stating “if either the SOS or ‘hands’ button is activated; the musher and team will be withdrawn.”
